TeleHealth
It used to be that where you lived determined the care and quality of care you received. In some cases, where you lived meant going without care entirely. Not anymore.
Thanks to cutting-edge developments in technologies that now make it possible to receive care virtually, via a secure, online platform, many Americans can now access gold standard treatment when and where they need it. Sun Health Centers is one of a few providers in greater Boca Raton that is a pioneer in TeleHealth services.
At Sun Health, TeleHealth comprises two core services, TeleTherapy and TeleMedicine (largely TelePsychiatry). Many of our patients receive both, as part of a comprehensive, evidence-based treatment approach.
For those wondering what types of TeleHealth services we provide, this page will give an overview. If you’re wondering whether TeleHealth treatment is right for you, we encourage you to call our offices at 1-855-459-0278 for more personalized answers or an online consultation with a member of our interdisciplinary team.
“My friend told me about Sun Health, and I’m so glad they did. During an initial consultation, they answered all of my questions with such knowledge and compassion. It has been three months since I first began TeleTherapy, and I haven’t felt this good in years.”
– SteveWhat Mental Health Conditions Can Sun Health Treat Using TeleHealth Services?
TeleHealth at SHC can address a wide range of issues and conditions related to mental, psychiatric and neurological health. Together, our TeleTherapy and TeleMedicine services allow patients to receive comprehensive, outpatient care from a quality provider, without having to live within close vicinity of our office. This convenience also means that someone in a mental health emergency can be seen and triaged more quickly by one of our experienced psychiatrists and/or therapists.
During a remote consultation or check-up, patients can also receive the same services that they would in person, but without the drive time and the wait. Whether it’s prescribing anxiety medication or administering Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), our TelePsychiatrists and TeleTherapists can successfully treat many patients remotely. (Some patients may require in-person appointments also, depending on their treatment needs.)

How TeleHealth Services Can Support Optimal Brain and Mental Health
Many people feel embarrassed about seeking help for symptoms related to poor mental health or other brain-related problems. Yet this sense of stigma can keep you from experiencing your best life and self. TeleHealth at SHC helps you get there, by providing an extra layer of confidentiality. Unlike a physical doctor’s office and waiting room, our HIPAA-compliant video conferencing technology and secure online portal can provide the assurance of safety and privacy that many people need to seek outpatient therapy and/or psychiatric treatment.
At the same time, patients receive the same level of personalized, comprehensive and interactive care from our online doctors and therapists. A good way to think of TeleHealth at SHC is as a modern-day reinvention of the old house call: One or more members of our multidisciplinary team of physicians and clinicians can virtually check in on you to see how you’re doing at a time that’s convenient for you.
In this sense, you don’t have to come to us for treatment—we come to you. For many patients, this revolutionary model for healthcare delivery removes many of the barriers that can keep them from achieving lasting stability, recovery, and quality of life.
